Barack Obama and the Dueling Bobs
With the economy the king pin of the issues in this election, the NYT Sunday magazine had a thorough piece on what Obama is thinking and what he will likely do. The challenge is to reconcile the differences between the two economic Bobs of the Democratic Party: Bob Rubin, the architect of Bill Clinton’s successful […]

US warships arrive in Georgia
In Batumi, not Poti.
As I read my tea leaves, I see that the Pentagon is trying to prevent a confrontation from happening. Read the article, Bautmi port is to small to handle the US destroyer. In any case, a US destroyer is too cramped to carry any more than a handful of relief supplies. Relief […]

What Goes Around, Will Come Around
John McCain wasted no time. They did waste time preparing ads for Kaine and Bayh. But here they are, as I thought they would, with an add out on Biden. It’s a no-brainer, playground silliness, using words from the past, words that Biden said about Obama when he, Biden, was running for president. This man […]

Obama/Biden Details
I updated my Biden post below. But here are some details. Obama sent his announcement via email and text message at 4:57 AM this morning. I caught it about a half-hour later. The announcement will be made in Springfield, Illinois this afternoon at 3:00 PM, EDT.
See you then.

US ships on the way
A picture of a US destroyer on the way to Poti, for a confrontation with nulcear armed Russia. Russian troops had evacuated the city on Aug. 14, but they returned when George decided to send warships there.
Good Luck everybody. Nobody has been able to stop Bush.
By the way, warships are too small to carry […]

Update: No More Biden Our Time
Now we know. We’ll know in about 24 hours or less. Many in the MSM have been pushing Biden. While I like Kaine, I am starting to agree that Biden has the pitbull mentality and tongue to go after McCain, senator a senator, peer to peer. Kaine can’t. Bayh can’t. (Obviously it could be someone […]

Russian troops blockade Georgian port
Russian troops have set up land positions outside the Georgian port of Poti. Russian forces were finally beginning to retreat, now some have reversed and blockaded Poti.
This is the probable destination for our flotilla to unload supplies. We will then have Russian and US military forces in close proximity in a tense situation. Not scared […]

A little more light on the Georgian question
Developments are proceeding.
As you know, Pakistan has descended into chaos. So we are being supplied somewhat through Russia and former Central Asian Republics. According to Helena Cobban, the Russians are very politely reminding us that the Georgia question is not vital enough for us to have our troops in Afghanistan cut off.
Helena mentions that a […]
