And the word from Wasilla
Please understand. I am not knocking Wasilla. I have never been to Alaska, in many ways it perhaps still the place where the American frontier still exists. And I think Alaskans in general must be a very self reliant, tough people. I grew up in the snows of Wisconsin, but still there was a house every three miles or so. In the southern part of the state where I grew up. In the northern stretches, it can be 30 miles between houses. So I do know something about living in a cold climate and self reliance.
In parts of Alaska, it could be several hundred miles to the next house, so if you are in trouble, you are on your own. And there are no roads. You travel by dogsled or plane in those parts. That would breed tough folk.
And it is a lot colder than Wisconsin.
And it sounds like Sarah has done her share of living the big life in the forests and wilderness there.
But now she is thrust on a much different stage. Dealing with the rest of America will be a great challenge for her. And as Vice President of the United States of America, she will have to deal on the International stage, where some nations like us, some are lukewarm, and others definitely don’t like us at all. But if her ticket is elected, deal with them she must.
Can she do this? Frankly, I do not think she can make the jump, and that she will become an American embarrassment.

But she governs the state closest to Russia, so she has foreign policy experience. (Actual GOP talking point on one of the Sunday shows this morning.)

Not only is it next to Russia but it is the only state that borders on TWO foreign countries.
