John Kerry’s Masterpiece

You may have missed it because of the media’s fixation on Bill Clinton. While I understand the coverage, given the quality of Bill Clinton’s speech noted below, I’m sorry it worked out that way. Kerry’s speech is worth tracking down. (I can’t find it right now.)

Here is the essence of what Kerry did. While Bill Clinton’s references to Bush and McCain were not personal and more a policy analysis of the difference between Republicans and Democrats, John Kerry got down and dirty and personal. He brilliantly and insightfully pointed out that there is a black and white difference between Senator McCain and candidate McCain. The former, he said, is a friend of his and has been for 25 years. He said Senator McCain often bolted his party for principle, but candidate McCain is a man he does not recognize. He joked about how McCain’s flip-flops pale compared to his, invoking his infamous quote, “I was for it before I was against it”.

Kerry mentioned Rove’s name at least three times and wondered why McCain has abandoned principle for the destruction of Rove’s fear tactics. Kerry called for an end to Rove’s tactics. And he forcefully said that this campaign is about character and judgment, leaving no doubt that candidate McCain has lost his way and he will be wrong for America.

Great stuff.

Kerry was better than I’ve ever seen him. Not so much in the content of his speech, but in the way he delivered it. Much more, um, fire than before.

Kerry was amazing. Tammy Duckworth wasn’t too shabby either.

It should be on youtube tomorrow.

This is the Kerry I toured the country with post-Viet Nam. This is the Kerry that the same guys who are calling the shots on the Obama campaign chose to neuter in 04. Left to his own devices don’t you think that this Kerry would have mopped the floor with that asshole from Crawford?

Amazing performances from the supporting cast. Hillary and Bill were more than even I expected and I expected nothing less than party-first brilliance from both. Biden does kitchen table better than any one else. This is either the best set up that Obama could ask for or he’s going to go down hard. Helluva an act to follow because it’s going to take more than words, it’s going to require a personal gravitas that many don’t believe Obama has. Tomorrow is zero hour. I truly hope he’s got it in him because it will be both a speech for the ages and the first step in salvaging our future.

Too bad the MSM-CBS,NBC,ABC,fns-all missed it. Darn. Notice how they either put words in the speakers mouth-like fns,ABC did on MrsObama and how much they all put down HRC. No matter how much some dem voters want HRC to be president she will never ever win because not only do the repigs hate her but so does the MSM. They continue to distort and outright lie about what she said. Second reason she will never be prez. She can not run an organization. Health Care reform? she made a real mess out of that. Her campaign? full of dissent, close friends taking positions that they were not qualified for, squabbles about power. Overpaying and indulging the top people by paying high expenses and salary-if Penn is the vendor that she owes millions to I say screw him-while in contrast the Obama campaign was very tight and disciplined
