Hats Off to Hillary!

Hillary Clinton just gave a real barnburner of a speech, fusing her passion for issues and appreciation of the people who worked so hard to get her elected with a clear and unequivocal argument that all that she and her supporters have worked for for the past 18 months and suffered during the past eight years makes it imperative to elect Barack Obama. The alternative? “No way, no how, no McCain.”  A round of applause, please.

One round of applause, sure, but not a standing ovation. In my book it fell short of what she COULD have said. She endorsed him, but she did not embrace him. I felt she said the minimum in a formal way. It was professionally done, not pesonally felt. She said more about herself and little about him, Barack Obama, or what he stands for. She left McCain off the hook, “her friend”, as she referred to him.

It is reported that the disgraced Mark Penn helped her with her speech. She and her gang are still parading the notion at the convention that there is a block of 18 million voters that are “her’s”, that she controls.

Although tonight should be about Obama, especially with Biden’s speech, it will be overshadowed by that man, Mister Clinton. He has refused to “clear” his speech. Rumor has it that he will talk more about his accomplishments, and like his wife, less about “the kid” and the future with Obama at the helm.

We’ll also see how much Clinton Company sturred-up mischief will play out in the roll call.

bdr, if by “dude” you mean I’m hard to please or I’m still “beating up” on the Clintons, then I plead guilty. BUT, if Biden doesn’t blister McCain tonight, and I mean blister him, and if Obama doesn’t blister McCain tomorrow night, you will see me blister them and not make another euro contribution to the campaign. Yes, Obama can deliver a great speech, and yes, it should be about the future, but he has to get angry about something, somebody, and John McCain and what he stands for as the only alternative to sanity should be that thing, that somebody.

Anglachel, as always, says it best. But the burning question for me, is whether Barack will wear a toga while delivering his acceptance speech in a “structure that resembles an ancient Greek temple” at Invesco Field. Thankfully, this will put all of those “elitist” labels to rest once and for all. And to think Americans could have had an adult and a Democrat in the Whitehouse for a change. So close. So damn close. I guess this is what happens when 18 year old frat boys pick the next leader of the free world.

Anglachel is smart but has a blind spot the size of the sun about HRC and a total inability to get past her own narrative about the election. Her fables of Michigan and Florida are remarkable for their fantasy.

Did you know HRC signed off on the DNC censure of Florida and Michigan and only started barking when she discovered she’d actually need their delegates? You wouldn’t to read Anglachel.

I read Anglachel daily - she’s smart, she’s passionate, and she gives me a readable insight into the mind of a devout HRCer without being a Larry Johnson idiot. I’m just saying she has her own agenda and her own inability to recognize it as such.

The is pot calling kettle black, so please don’t interpret this as snark. I do read her daily.

As for togas, see my post above. And come visit for music at my place like you used to.

The dem convention-according to the MSM is all about Kennedy and Clinton-Obama is ignored. Will all the networks carry Obamas speech tonite or will they just do ‘highlites’ so they can smear him some more?
