What Goes Around, Will Come Around

John McCain wasted no time. They did waste time preparing ads for Kaine and Bayh. But here they are, as I thought they would, with an add out on Biden. It’s a no-brainer, playground silliness, using words from the past, words that Biden said about Obama when he, Biden, was running for president. This man has no decency. But my guess is that Obama will return the favor.

McCain is not very imaginative with his ads, and he appears to be wasting his and our money. He had one out with Democrats saying nice things about him, forcing the DNC to come out with an ad of the same people saying “What has happened to John McCain”, he’s not the same guy we knew when. I don’t think these adds work.

What’s your take?

There is something odd about their strategy. It seems as though they don’t care about the content, just the coverage. Of course it may be that they are mostly trying to change the subject off of “how many houses does McCain have?”

Then again there is this:
Joseph Biden
Earned income: $193,900.
Honoraria (all donated to charity): $800.
Major assets: Bank accounts and life insurance policies, $22,008-$155,000.
Major sources of unearned income: Life insurance dividends, $1,001-$2,500.
Major liabilities: Loan against life insurance policies, $15,001-$50,000; lines of credit, $114,002-$300,000; credit union note, $10,001-$15,000.

Can they still pick Mittens? (yesyesyesyes) If they do they’re really begging for the Party of the Rich and Out Of Touch ads.

So, when McCain names Romney and Democrats run ads using McCain’s words against Romney and Romney’s words against McCain, that won’t be childish? That won’t be indecent?

bdr, I say you need to play in their sand box some of the time. It has to be tit-for-tat. But I still like Obama’s strategy: going negative, quietly in key states while staying positive nationally.

We’ll know a lot more in five days, after the convention, after McCain picks his crutch.

What I believe the repigs are doing is pandering to their base-rovian tactics. It worked in 04. rove believed that he was the only one who had ‘the math’ for the 06 election and he fell flat on his face. I believe that the idea that you can win with only your base has past. Yet mccain has hired a rove devotee to run his day to day operations. If you notice they have also changed his town hall meetings and have put a very firm grip on what mccain actually says, no more talkies with the press, and now, because they have been shut out of their favored place-listening at the feet of st john-the stars are starting to fade from the eyes of his biggest supporters and they are begining to pay attention to what he has actually said, all the speaking flubs, the memory problems are starting to surface. Couldn’t happen to a better bunch than the layabout reporters who fell in love with the image, but are now begining to see the failures of the man. Remember the odd statement from the mccain campaign a couple of weeks ago? the one that stated “the candidate does not speak for the campaign”. It is clear to me that mccain has fallen prey to his ambition to be pres. He has demoted Davis in favor of a rove zelot. They obviously believe that they can both run and win by going to the repig base. Screw those dem traitors and the indi’s too. We will win in the south, and we will ride that to victory. Now, just how this plays out in the next 2 months will be interesting
