US warships to Black Sea
The US government is going to send US warships into the Black Sea.
We are quickly moving down the slippery slope to nuclear war. If war breaks out between Russia and the United States, I do not see how it can be contained to the Black Sea or prevented from going full nuclear.
I wish everyone the best of luck.

Max, I have checked this out carefully in Reuters,AP, BBC and everyplace else that I can. Other than you link I can find nothing from anyone. No film of warships passing thru Turkey, No change from Turkey after they refused to allow american ships, nothing from Bush, nothing from AP. All I can think so far is that this is only one paper/article reporting this. But nothing from anyone one else. So what say we wait a bit until we see or hear a confirmation ok?

Max, this is all that I have found so far. CNN Brabra Starr reports that the pentagon is in the final stages of preperation and is IN THE PROCESS of asking Turkey for permission to allow the US to send 2 Navy warships and 1 Coast Guard Cutter to the Black Sea. No indication yet about whether or not Turkey-which will be under tremendous pressure-will in fact allow it when they have already refused to allow the US to send 1 ship. That is it so far.

timr,
So the good news is that we have two NATO partners, the US and Turkey, facing off?
We are going to have to depend upon Turkey to have the common sense that we fail to have?
