Russian carrier to Med
So as we send multi national NATO task force into the Black Sea, Russia will challenge NATO sea supremacy in the Med by basing an aircraft carrier in the Med, The Kuznetsov.
Somewhere this is bound to spiral out of control, and then what? We will glow in the dark.
Here is a guide to what the ship is about. It is not a toy boat.
Actually, this might be a good sign. If Russia is going to base a carrier battle group in the Med, on the Syrian coast, they might not sink our little flotilla on the way to Georgia. A Naval base in Syria might be enough to salvage pride. The thing is, it puts the US again in a real bind as to what to do next. We really are on a tight rope.

Max, chill.
Adding, I wonder which party thinks it can profit by a ratcheting up of tensions with the Russian bear.
I’m not trying to quiet you, I’m trying to calm you. You live in Japan so can appreciate this metaphor - this is kabuki.

It is indeed Kabuki. You know that, Russia knows that, but does Dumbya know that? I don’t know that. How is Condi helping here? I thought Russia was her bag. Giving Poland our not-yet-invented missile shield was pure stupidity. Ah, the joy of perpetual dumb…

I and the rest of Tokyo are downwind of the American Air Force base at Yokota. However, my playing around on the net is starting to look this; Just perhaps the Russians let us dock our little flotilla in Georgia. They are pulling out, and warships cannot carry much anyway. Only a trivial amount of supply.
So they base an aircraft carrier battle group in Syria, supply the Syrians with weaponry, and look at my next post, the only reliable supply route for US troops is now through Russia.
Geopolitically, America will outmaneuvered every which way from Sunday.
I am not ashamed to say that I fear America pushing for nuclear war. In March of 2006 and March of 2007 we had some very serious war scares that America would attack Iran with Bunker Buster nukes. That is 20 Hiroshima sized weapons. The Joint Chiefs of Staff leaked the plan to the press to stop it.
I would not put ANYTHING past these people, they are insane.

Max, like blk said, chill, take a deep breath. The Twilight Zone this isn’t. As of today-8-22 at 1pmCDT, no american ships(according to any news that I can find) have yet gone past Turkey. Seeing as how Turkey refused passage to the USNS Comfort-a hospital ship-what leads anyone to believe that they would allow US Navy warships into the Black Sea. No, they if they refused to allow the USNS Comfort passage, they will surely rescind permission to the Navy-and other-ships now that the main reason-to train with the Russian Navy is gone Could be that the Turks are the grownups that you are looking for. And, remember this. gwb can not repeat can not start a nuclear war by himself. Someone else with national command authority has to agree on the record before the weapons start to fly. Do you believe that Gates, or Rice would do this?
