McCain’s Sense of Humor, Redux
by Sasha
Josh recently pointed out that McCain’s sense of humor increases his likeability, suggesting that this might have a positive impact on 5 percent of the voters. It seems that folks are turning up some of those “jokes,” (besides the one about his wife painting herself like a trollop, of course). I think lots of those otherwise Hillary voters might not find that his humor adds to his likeability.
Adding to his well known anti-woman reputation we find that he thinks rape, especially rape by animals, is quite amusing. To wit
“Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, ‘Where is that marvelous ape?’” (via Rum, Romanism and Rebellion)
Seems to me that humor like this will lose more votes than it gains, but that’s just me. Maybe some folks haven’t figured out that women vote in larger numbers than men do.
