Can I remind everyone excoriating Obamawful (dibs BDR!) over FISA that we who are excoriating Obamawful over FISA are despised by most and disdained by all but us’uns? We are the relative at family reunions who generates involuntary oh-shit facial reactions when first seen by mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws.
Even if Obamawful was one of us he couldn’t run as one of us, so bitch and moan theatrically or bitch and moan stupidly, scream OMFG! Obamawful isn’t campaigning to win our self-righteously strident hearts. If I was Obamawful, I would not only be running away from me, I’d be running with the amoral pliability of this fister.

blk, you said it. The vote means nothing, if Obama was the vote that could bring the FISA law to a dead stop, then I might be poed at him. As it is, his vote ment nothing, and it deprived the rethugs a chance to go after him on it-I’ll bet the rethug commercials were all ready to roll, then Obama voted the “wrong way”. Just goes to show, BO is smart, and they can still go after the telecoms in a criminal action later, nothing in FISA to stop that is there?

I’m with timr on this one. The race is now about winning the White House, whatever it takes. We can expect Obama to clean up this mess when he is president, but meanwhile he can’t look “weak” on terrorism. To win the primaries, Democrats need to run left, but to win the general election they need to run to the middle.
