Methinks thou protest too much…
The McLellan thing really has really hit a nerve (as if this were news to those of us on this side of the aisle). If I’m Scotty, I’m checking the backseat of my car for awhile.
Seriously though, I’m wondering why Bushco is reacting this strongly and not using their usual response, which is, “So?” It’s not like Scotty is the first insider to go postal on them and publish a tell-all book. If they simply blew it off, this would be a 48-hour story, nothing more. Perhaps McLellan is singing to Conyers’ committee or to what’s left of the Justice Department. Seems like there’s more to the story…

I think it is a warning to anybody else who might be considering the same that they won’t be welcome at the barbecue.

I like the part in the link about the President believing his own spin. Let us be honest here. We should say he believed his own lies.

Bushco’s normal reaction is “so?”
I think Valerie Plame would disagree.

LC, off topic, but this has so many implications that I thought that everyone might find it interesting

BDR, in essence they said, “so?” to Wilson and Plame. They minimized the Plame thing for years and rarely addressed the Plame thing head-on until it went to trial. Then it was no-hold-barred obfuscation, character-assassination and eventually pardoning of a convicted felon. What I find interesting is that Richard Clarke’s book on 911 was every bit as damning as this seems to be (will read McClellan over the weekend) and yet, they just slapped Clarke off their backs. I just have a feeling that McLellan is providing “states” evidence against Rove at a minimum, if not the whole shittin works. Timing is too coincidental given the amount of scrutiny Herr Karl is receiving right about now.

The point here, as I see it, is that Scott was part of the original Texas posse, part of the family. No so the others, including Richard Clarke. Yes, we knew this stuff, but now we KNOW this stuff. This also turns the infamous Bush loyalty on its arse where it belongs.

I always welcome the coming out of the truth..especially when it comes from such an insider as Scott. With all the publicity perhaps more of the right-wing will pick up the book and learn how they have been betrayed by their God-thumping, hypocrite of an idiot leader. The sad thing is the two canididates that we will be left to contend with are not much of an improvement. I am most disappointed that as a nation we didn’t come up with stronger, independent thinking leaders to take over the disaster we are left with now.

Cathrine, I doubt that many of the right wing will read Scotty’s book. They don’t want to see or admit the truth. Most, I think, just won’t show up to vote, and hope that things will work themselves out.
As two the two candidates that we have left not being much of an improvement. McBush is just more of the same and Obama, well, who the hell knows. For the last couple of years I have considered this same situation. A new Democratic President (no matter who it is) is stuck with this vile mess that Bushco left them with. Can you imagine the shit that this President is going to have to clean up? It’s almost Rovian. Maybe like they planned it this way. To leave soo much bullshit to straighten out, that the Repugs in 2011 will probably campaign on what little the Dems have accomplished in the last three years. No I don’t think that anyone that I can think of could easily sort through this barrel of steaming turds that the Repugs will surely pass us. I wouldn’t wish that job on anyone. And for the life of me can’t see why Obama and Hillary would fight over it.
