Nancy Pelosi, Say it isn’t so!

Nancy Pelosi seems to be trying to outdo George Bush.

On a visit to Israel, she said that if countries want to be friends with the US, they must treat Iran as a pariah nation, and totally support America’s aggressive policy towards Iran.

This has rankled Japan, a longtime American friend. America forced Japan to give up oil field development in Iran. Since then, Japan has taken a much closer stance to China. The Japanese PM has visited China, and the Chinese Premier visited Japan. Very warm, friendly visits, we are past the WWII rhetoric. Japan is also developing oil fields in Siberia.

This marks a shift that America is no longer the center for everything in Japan.

In Iraq, Iran has been a very beneficial agent. Iran got the Maliki government and the Mahdi Army to talk instead of fight after the Basra offensive collapsed. After his victory in Basra, Muqtada al-Sadr planned a “million man march” against the US occupation in Najaf, right on our vulnerable supply lines. Iran persuaded him that this was not a good idea. Iran also helped broker a shaky truce in the recent fighting in Sadr city.

Yet George Bush continues to rail against Iran. Well, I expect that from him, but Nancy Pelosi? Say it isn’t so Nancy! Is Israel the center of American foreign policy, and other nations must follow America’s lead here? It won’t happen, and Israel will find itself alone after a bankrupt America goes home.

P.S. Iran is NOT making a bomb. Thank you.

max, if gwb does give the word to attack Iran, I would hope that the generals would say no, and if he pushes the order, resign. I am pretty sure that the war fighters might, but the “perfumed princes”, the political generals, the ones who have never commanded in combat, they would likely be eager to enforce the order. What do you think??

Tim,

The “Perfumed Princes” get their stars and positions by sticking their noses in nether regions. What can we expect?
