The Morning After
A handful of notes from the blogosphere on last night’s Democratic primaries:
Hilzoy at Obsidian Wings, pointing out that despite her embrace of the phony gas-tax holiday, Hillary lost North Carolina and won Indiana in a squeaker: “Senator Clinton gambled on the stupidity of the voters, and she lost. That is truly worth celebrating.” Hilzoy also notes that Hillary has canceled her public appearances for today.
Former Republican John Cole, whose Balloon Juice is my favorite newly discovered blog: “I am for Obama because he is a decent man, a break from the past, and really a once in a lifetime opportunity. He has treated us like adults throughout this primary, and it is time to act like adults.”
Be sure you read our own Leftcoast, who suggests what Obama should do, right away today.
Quote of the Day, from AMERICABlog, on the possibility that General Wesley Clark may have told Hillary it’s over: “But the general better watch it–this could be his most dangerous mission to date. When you take on the Clintons, the sniper fire is real.” (OK, that’s mean, but a good line nevertheless.)
There are 181 days to go before Election Day. Team Obama has lots of work to do. Even though this primary campaign has been like one long attack of hemorrhoids, at least it’s shown us the anti-Obama template for the general election. On that topic, the sports/parody blog Kissing Suzy Kolber subtly weighs in. (Link NSFW.)
And one more, not related to the election but surely indicative of the times in which we live: The stupidest thing you will read all day.

One, did you notice that the good general is not wearing a flag on his lapel? I wish that observation had been original with me, but I saw it in a cartoon, a dude looking at a general with all the pins, but commenting, where is the American flag?
Is this Wesley Clark angling for a VP slot on the Obama ticket?
