While we Dems were bickering
Senator McCain is making speeches. And some of the things he says are Zowies.
While we Democrats are nit picking over Barack and Hillary, and allowing the media to do the same, McCain is staking out his position, and it sounds scary. Frankly, what Barack’s pastor says does not scare me, but Senator McCain re-igniting the Cold War really does. Why should America snub Russia and China so? there is no rational reason.
Us Dems better get our act together, or we could be stuck with more years of a nutso Republican president!
OK, I will make a little addition here. The Zowies I was talking about in McCain’s speech were a promise to boot Russia out of the G-8, to invite India in, and to prevent China from joining. That is how he would restart tensions. But the world is no longer listening to America. A few weeks ago, President Bush began to lecture India on it’s relations with Iran. India, Pakistan, and India are building a pipeline from Iran. And the Indian leadership bluntly told President Bush that India has had relations with Iran for some 2,500 years, they do not need us to tell them how to do it.
Soon, an American leader trying to rally the world behind America will find himself preaching to an empty and dark hall.

Max, this is an important and timely post. On the brighter side of the current main attraction about personalities, I do think that the general election will be about ideas, the contrasts are so great. I think they would be greater with Obama in the mix, but the Democrats and Republicans will be polar opposites. McCain will try to fudge the differences, but his only argument on Iraq is that he will be a better manager of the invasion’s aftermath. His “bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” Beach Boy take-off will come back to haunt him and he will tank on the economy and botch Social Security. I do think he is sly as a fox, and his VP call will make things interesting.
Stay on the case.

Josh,
And I will be there. My keyboard fingers are already itchy. Any time he tries to say things are peachy and we should stay the course, I will be there.

It would be the greatest farce if the divisive nature of the democratic primary allowed Mcain to sneak into the White House come November…but every day that passes it is looking more and more likely. The camps are becoming so entrenched that the two candidates are going to have spend time and money convincing the other half of the democratic party to actually come out and vote for them all before trying to woo the crucial moderates who apparently are quite fond of Mcain the “moderate” republican.
