Maybe some readers like watching BoB devolve from a platform that created a community of a million vistors of all stripes into a milquetoast circle jerk that is simpled down to the political flavors of an effete few.  I am not one of them. Which is why I’m posting an item about Eliot Spitzer. Nobody put blinkers on my filly running at Aqueduct today. 

I feel sorry for Eliot Spitzer and Silda Wall Spitzer, his wife, and their children. Not for what Eliot did, which is nothing different than a what a lot of male and female politicians with healthy drives who fly in the jetstream of the political class do, but because they have to endure a painful gauntlet of ritual sacrifice at the hands of the “liberal” MSM and the blogosphere.  One wonders how is it that a routine IRS investigation can come up with “Client #9″ and bingo, while in the months prior to 911 the FBI and the FAA and a myriad of other US investigative services spun their wheels with reports about foreigners taking flying lessons living at the Homing Inn in Boynton Beach. Then too, Hank Greenberg, Ken Starr and Dick Grasso were not among his circle of friends.  The first thing one learns surfing over to Wikipedia is that Spitzer is more or less, a “non-practicing” Jew and that he did not complete the ritual Bar Mitzvah. Perhaps it is time for Eliot to skedaddle over to the homeland, make amends, get a non-paying faculty position at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, do some studies with a prominent rebbe and get the Bar Mitzvah.  The PR pros at Edelman will be more than happy to run intereference for Citizen Spitzer when he gets green lighted for rehabilitation.  The plus here is that, unless there is some double secret Swiss longevity clinic Keith Richards doesn’t even know about, Eliot will have a political life way beyond his detractors.  And, for those of you with short memories, “bad boy” Larry Craig is still a US Senator, in fact, he is reorganizing his staff as I write this little minion.  Accidents… what me accident?
