What does a flag pin mean?

I just found this on the net, Bill Kristol is criticizing Barack Obama as being unpatriotic for not wearing a pin of the American flag.

I don’t think so at all, such a badge should be a matter of personal taste to be respected by all.

The only country that requires badges that I know of is in my neighborhood, that is North Korea, where the Kim Il Sung badge is required. Gosh, America is not like North Korea, is it Mr. Kristol?

Max:
I hate to break this to you
“But, your flag [pin] won’t get you
Into Heaven anymore.
They’re already overcrowded
From [their] dirty little war
Now Jesus don’t like Killin’
No matter what the reasons for.
And your flag [pin] won’t get you into Heaven anymore.” :)

Don’t worry, I don’t wear one.

Nosebetter, a great update of a great John Prine song, one of the best songwriters around and still going, sorta.

I find flag pins very convenient. They immediately identify a jingoist whom I can safely ignore.
