Not More This, Less That
I’m not more obamagastic, I’m less clintonistic, and I’ve been trying to figure out deeper reasons than not wanting the restoration of Bill and other oft-voiced objections.
(Many Democrats) also respect the Clintons for being among the very few Democrats of any significance with the willingness and ability to stand up to and defeat the right-wing monster and, most importantly, to recognize its true character.
So when the Clinton’s say anything to defeat Obama, Obama (and his supporters), to the Clintons, are morally indistinguishable from the “right-wing monster” Democrats credit the Clintons for challenging. Scratch that advantage.
The choice the Clintons give us:
Either the “right-wing monster” isn’t so bad, or anyone supporting Obama is just as bad.
*
Plus, the Clinton’s react: So What If the Black Guy Won in South Blackolina.
*
Oh, can I also point out that all the anti-Clinton INC sentiment from the Left - and it is pretty damningly vitriolic - erodes some high-ground the same folk would stand on this summer against the Right’s anti-Clinton attacks should she get the nomination?
I mean, the I can call my mother a bitch but you can’t moral argument only goes so far. Which doesn’t mean folks won’t use it.
