“For shame, for shame.  Obama pushed the wrong button while voting in the Illinois State Legislature and cost a child welfare office millions of dollars of its funding.  Not only that, it wasn’t the first time that Obama “accidentally” pushed the wrong button.  He did it six times.  Is he that sloppy or is he just covering up his real intentions?  Either way, is he really qualified to be president?”

I’ve just paraphrased and spun this story which the Los Angeles Times reported today.  Obama made a mistake on only six of the 4,000 votes he cast during his 8 years in the legislature.  So what?  But in today’s media frenzy, this would be a hanging offense particularly if the perpetrator had the last name of Clinton.  It will be interesting to see what kind of “legs” this story has during the next 48 hour news cycle.  Even more interesting to see if Clinton or Edwards seize on it and make it a debate or campaign issue.  If they do, our system is even sicker than I think it is.
