This guy really ought to be President…
Joe Biden yesterday on Hardball…(see link to Biden video).
UPDATE: A more expansive piece from Biden on Iran. And one of the most thoughtful analyses and approaches to the issue I’ve read in years.

One politically savvy friend of mine in Iowa, who intended for most of 2007 to caucus for Obama, has switched to Biden, calling him “the only grownup in the room.” I watched him on C-SPAN the other night and was impressed myself–not the least because I’ve always perceived him as a politician in love with the sound of his own voice. If anybody surprises on the Democrat side down there on caucus night, it’s likely to be him.

Sorry but I can’t agree. He has smarts but no wisdom. Besides I could never vote for a man who has had hair transplants. Wrong values thankyouverymuch.

SNOW WHITE
The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning.
As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores. As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.
One day, as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there had been a terrible cave-in. Tearfully and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived. ‘Hello, hello!’ she shouted. ‘Can anyone hear me? Hello!’
For a long while, there was no answer. Losing hope, Snow White again shouted, ‘Hello! Is anyone down there?’ Just as she was about to give up all hope, there came a faint voice from deep within the mine.
‘Vote for Hillary! Vote for Hillary!’
Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself, and prayed, ‘Oh, thank you God! At least Dopey is still alive.’

Sasha: Wisdom vs. Guiliani? Romney? McCain? Obama? Hillary for that matter? Hard to put that word together with any of the candidates. Can’t fault Biden for trying to be more telegenic in a TV age. It’s a rational response, though I might question his choice of surgeons…

Sasha:
Would you refuse to vote for a women who had breast implants?
Do you think it should be required that a candidate disclose whether they have had hair or breast implants?
How do you feel about false teeth or crowns?
Why don’t we demand that candidates provide all records from their dentists and plastic surgeons?

For those of you who have a problem with my personal hair transplant decision, yes, I can fault him for that. And I would refuse to vote for a woman who had breast transplants. It is about values, people. That is a level of vanity that is above and beyond my personal level of acceptance. Now if you want to get all quibbly about it, we could go through every possible decision and you could mock me, but I really don’t care. False teeth are functional; hair and breast transplants aren’t. (Yeah, yeah, there is that funbag thing.) In any case that isn’t any sillier than lots of other reasons folks make decisions.
And of course I’ll vote for the democratic nominee against any republican that I can see on the horizon. I may be bigoted and hardheaded but I’m not stupid.
Biden has long been a hothead, he tosses stuff out, then retracts it, then changes his mind, then settles down and finds a decent position. I don’t think that is the temprement I personally am looking for. Better temprement? Chris Dodd. Russ Feingold. He would make an exellent VP bdr.
Also you don’t have to agree with me.

President Reagan had all of the above and it had no effect on his or Nancy’s ” apparent” electability. I use the word (apparent) simply because of the way our last two presidential elections have been decided. ‘Manipulation for Governance’ - ” sounds rovian enough for me “.
Nose, as for the disclosure of implants, when it comes to hair and breasts - we here in Vermont can usually tell by sight - no disclosure is necessary .
