The self-Nixonization of Barack Hussein Obama

As Josh dishes below… no smackdown on Hilla, no respect for the Barack.  Let’s face it, the man is too scripted, too brittle.  When you’ve got the same skin shade as Joe Louis you ought to pack a knockout punch.  Nixon didn’t.  And he wasn’t any lighter than Joe Louis neither… It’s not about the color, it’s not about the beef, it’s about the cojones, or as they say in Argentina- chottos.   Now, to become Barack Millhouse (some would say pillhouse) all that needs happen is that the donors keep donating and put Annie Leibowitz up to doing the “quintessential portrait” of rock star Obama wearing those Nixonian Nettleton Algonquins walking along San Clemente Beach in an Arrow shirt and black dress pants, and he’d be… Nixonized.  Just no Diane Sawyer to run up the second floor with the ketchup for his cottage cheese and that 2nd martini shaker… Meanwhile, Barry’s multi-culti counterpart down in Louisiana, Bobby Jindal, just became governor of the former Huey Long fiefdom and might even get some Veep nibbles on a 2008 GOP slate.  There are plenty of traditional “Dems” in her own party who want to sandbag Hilla the Hun.  The $64 question is whether Barack and his handlers will lead him to the Aztecan altar of scarifice, or to the Podium looking down Pennsyltucky Avenue.  Like LeBron James says… don’t be like me… be better than me.  Could that be Barack’s message too?  Bubby Jindal is actually going to lead something… a state.  Barack hasn’t led nothin’ except his own bandwagon. And he hasn’t been no decider yet, neither… Time for Keith Olbermann to get on this case.

Groom:
It seems that all the Dems and Reps do is attack Hillary. I guess when you have no message of your own, no leadership skills, and all else fails, attack the only one who does.

I might add that Obama’s plan to increase social security taxes right now is a bad plan. We have a surplus in social security at this time that Bush is presently spending. A better plan would be to cut social security taxes at this time and raise them when we have a deficit in the social security system. A better plan would be to save the surplus, but that aint gonna happen. Congress is not capable.

Social Security DOES NOT have a surplus. It has mounds and mounds of paper IOU’s WORTH NOTHING because Congress is and has been spending the Social Security taxes out the waazoo by making up the general spending with the piggy bank of Social Security.

The ONLY way to help the Social Security “Trust” Fund is to STOP spending Social Security inflow and start repaying those infamous IOU’s. These IOU’s add up to nearly two trillion dollars according to a statement made Monday on C-Span.

Merlin, so you are saying that the US will not pay those back? at all?? ever ???, The US pretty much has to pay its obligations, that is the only thing that allows the fedgov to keep borrowing money, if the govt refuses to pay its IOU’s on SS what is to stop it from not paying back China and Saudi Arabia, hmmm. Or to put it another way, why would any country lend money to the US if they see that we refuse to pay back our own obligations.

Nobody really knows how much of a surplus or debt Social Security has or doesn’t have because of the spin. Harry Dexter White didn’t really know how many gold bars the Nazis had stolen either. But hey, when you got an military playing globo-cop (some say robo) you keep your money relatively strong. If you want to worry about something, worry about the Bush administration jacking GI disability benefits for those who already have ‘em. Watch new VA capo Gen Peake…

Wise Merlin: You didn’t understand what I said. I said SS has a surplus that BUSH IS CURRENTLY SPENDING. Why should we increase the amount of SS taxes when Congress will only spend it in the main budget.

The best thing to do would be to balance the budget without using SS while using the surplus to pay down the national debt. When it comes time to use it, we can start directing it towards SS. This is where Hillary’s program is FAR SUPERIOR to Obama’s plan. Don’t give Congress more until they are properly using what we are sending them.

Obama’s plan would be like throwing gasoline on a fire to put it out. It will only make matters worse.

When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you still owe Peter. It means that the 10 trillion dollar debt we have floating on various accounting books DOES NOT INCLUDE the 2.4 trillion dollar debt that is owed to Social Security.

With the addition of interest that is going to be owed to the 10 trillion dollar debt, the American people will have to pay back 20 trillion dollars (debt plus interest) over the next ten years. Tack on the 2.4 trillion dollar debt owed to Social Security, one can only wonder how high the taxation will have to be to make up all of the debt this country owes to other nations AND this government’s own obligations.

One only needs to ask oneself how much debt is “OFF THE BOOKS” LIKE THE EMERGENCY FUNDING OF THE IRAQ WAR THAT IS “”NOT”" ON THE BOOKS.

Therein lies the problem, Merlin. When Congress takes out these loans, they have no desire to ever pay them back. They just roll over the treasury notes and borrow more to pay the interest. Sooner or later it will catch up with us. The truly disgusting part is that they blame this on the people.

On top of that, they keep misleading the people on how many people will be still working. There are a lot of 22 year olds right now. Figures always give the number of people that will be working forty or fifty years down the road. I have little faith in their numbers.
