The Question That Has Not Been Answered
Peggy Noonan writes: “The question is not whether America is ‘ready’ for a woman. It’s whether it’s ready for Hillary.”
“Who”, she continues, “of all the powerful women in American politics right now, has inspired the unease, dismay and frank dislike that she has? Condi Rice, Nancy Polosi, Dianne Feinstein? These are serious women who are making crucial decisions about our national life every day. They inspire agreement and disagreement; they fight and are fought with. But they do not inspire repugnance. Nobody hates Barbara Mikulski, Elizabeth Dole or Kay Bailey Hutchinson; everyone respects Ms. Rice and Ms. Feinstein.
Hillary’s problem is not that she’s a woman; it’s that unlike these women–all of whom have come under intense scrutiny, each of whom has real partisan foes–she has a history of doubts that end in fearfulness. It is an unease and dismay based not on gender stereotypes but on personal history.”
Interesting stuff that they are reading today in the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal.

Josh: The question left unanswered is whether the campaign sign in your front yard is for Romney or Rudy.

“Nobody hates Barbara Mikulski.”
I live in Maryland. I guarantee you I hate me some Babs Mikulski, at least the dessicated sack of uselessness she’s become.

Hillary lacking partisan foes? You must be kidding. $70 million worth of Pug witch hunt that savaged both Hill’s and Bill’s reputations. Everyone respects Condi? Really? How is DiFi’s work more critical to the welfare of this country than the Jr. Senator from NY? Believe me there are more than a few of us leftcoasters who have real problems with Ms. Feinstein. C’mon Josh, we know you hate Hill and the idea of her being the Dem standard bearer, but you’re much better than mouthing Rush talkpoints.
