Where We Are Today
Drew Western wrote an exceptional post that captures the outrage of where we really are, despite the whirling of the Pug’s Mighty Wurlitzer. He takes it to the Dems in no uncertain terms. Here’s one of about a dozen money quotes I could have chosen:
“(The voters know that) Democrats are weak in the face of aggression, and can barely put their hands in front of their faces to block the blows from a minority in Congress and from a bully sitting in his bully pulpit at 29 percent in the polls.”
How is it that we know this, but no one in Congress or at the DNC/DLC has a clue? Read the rest of the piece. It’s worth your time…

Kind of hard to believe that the same people who saw nothing wrong with the Dutch cartoons humiliating and offending the Muslims are offended by the Moveon.org ad. This country was founded on cartoons poking fun of leadership. Have you ever seen any of the cartoons drawn by Paul Revere? Ben Franklin’s brother was jailed for writng about colonial leaders before freedom of the press. George Bush represents everything that the colonists fought against. He is a threat to LIBERTY.
I don’t think its fair to equate the attack on the general to attacks on the soldiers. I bet the soldiers have said things about the general that would make Moveon.org blush.

Nose: Agreed. This is part of an accelerating effort on the part of Bushco to equate any kind of dissent with treason and disloyalty. What seems to be lost in the MSM and in Congress is the fact that Bush made Petraeus a political operative. Once that happened, he became fair game, much as Newt, Hillary, Guiliani are fair game. I hate smear advertising no matter the source, but I thought the Moveon ad was simultaneously powerful and fatally mistimed. A strong piece of communication to be sure. But it gave the Pugs a chance to change the subject and the Dems an opportunity to once again prove they don’t get it.

LC, gen patraeus boss called him a “chickenshit” and a brownnoser, but one never hears any of this. Why didn’t the dems-who control congress-bring in the admiral to testify? Why did they let him slip and slide so damn much? The dems are the same as the repigs, they both want to be in power and to gorge themselves at the public trough, but the dems seem to be somewhat dumber at it than the repigs. BTW, great post, I hope that the dems in congress read it.
