I just wrote a post advising you to read Tristero at Digby’s Hullabaloo and Glenn Greenwald at Salon about Harvey Mansfield’s latest article in the Wall Street Journal, which argues for one-man rule against the rule of law. Then it got eaten by Wordpress, and I haven’t got time to reconstruct it. So go read ‘em. They’re good. They’ll tick you off, but they’re good. Also read Scott Horton, whose new blog, No Comment, appears at the new website of Harper’s magazine, to find out how the survival of Alberto Gonzales shows the administration’s “contempt and distance from humanity and the absence of what is noble.”

It’s hard to read stuff like this first thing in the morning, though, so you might want to save it for later. But don’t miss it.
