Yesterday I was driving Goldie, my 1986 Toyota Tercel, east on US 98 through the Redneck Riviera having just crossed George C. Wallace Blvd in Panama City Beach, FL when Daniel Schorr offered his views on l’affaireImus. Stopping short of calling Imus a racist, Schorr suggested that Imus, who was paid to be controversial, ought to be more circumspect in his choice of words.  Schorr, offered the typically Jewish response,  not holding Imus’ actions against him.  Meanwhile the MSM, Reverend Al Sharpton and Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) have made Don Imus the subject of a politically correct inquisition with the bottom line adding political capital to the Barack Hussein Obama campaign.  A few weeks prior, Michael Ray Richardson, the African-American coach of the Continental Basketball Association Albany Patroons, made politically incorrect comments about Jews that cost him his job; a story that surely came across Sharpton’s radar screen but wasn’t politically relevant enough for anybody to chase.  You didn’t hear Jewish senators like Norm Coleman (R-MN) or Joe Lieberman (I-CT) or Barbara Boxer (D-Mill Valley) calling for Michael Ray’s head on a plate. Ironically, Michael Ray was married to a Jewish woman and is the father of two Jewish kids.  Imus, a non-observant Jew, is married to a Roman Catholic.  Maybe the final solution here is for Don and Barack to get together, do a little blow (no strangers here), and come up with the Imus-Obama guidelines for defining racism in this current political season.
