Four generals will soon be implicated by a DOD investigation into the cover-up of the friendly fire death of NFL star turned Army Ranger Pat Tillman. With Congress about to cave in and green light $124 billion in warbucks for 2008 perhaps they should be reminded that several officers and enlisted personnel knew within minutes that Tillman was killed by his own.  The big lie was told to friends and family at a memorial service 12 days later.  Too bad Congress can’t force the decider to strut out onto the deck of an aircraft carrier in his flight mufti 20 miles off the coast of San Diego and tell that to the American people.  And while they’re at it, come clean and admit that the 218-212 warbucks “victory for the American people” does not bring all combat troops home and it funds for a mere six months.  $124 billion could be better spent on shoring up Social Security and Medicare instead of buying the decider half a year’s worth of Viagra.  But breaking down what’s left of America’s social net is job one in this “war of lies,” innit?
