Shrub is Soft on Homeland Security
U.S. government efforts to prepare for another attack on America are grossly underfunded and will require an additional $98.4 billion over the next five years, the head of a think tank task force said on Sunday. More than 20 months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York and Washington, U.S. agencies are still dangerously unprepared for another attack, particularly one involving chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons, said former Sen. Warren Rudman, the chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations' emergency responders task force. As I recall, Senator Rudman is a well-respected Republican.

Further proof that Andrew Sullivan is one dumb and gullible motherfucker:
The Republican leader of the U.S. Senate said on Sunday he supported a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist expressed concern about the Supreme Court's decision last week to strike down a Texas sodomy law. He said he supported an amendment that would reserve marriage for relationships between men and women. Reuters, June 29, 2003
