Memo to Matt

Are you following the Drudge Report's sledgehammer attempts to discredit the Observer's blockbuster report about U.S. "dirty tricks" to spy on key U.N. Security Council members in an effort to influence their votes on the Iraq war? Drudge alleges that the newspaper "altered" key portions of the report because it changed the spelling of words to conform to English English instead of American English.

Note to Drudge: Changing "favorable" to "favourable" so your local readers will know what you're talking about is not "altering" the text--it's good copy-editing. Altering is when you change the facts--something I'm sure you've never done, you moron.
